How about the production process of polypropylene staple fiber!

  Polypropylene has good processing properties. Like general thermoplastic resins, it can be molded by injection molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, spinning and other methods. It can also be welded, thermoformed, electroplated and foamed, and it can also be processed twice if necessary. Containers, pipes, plates, films, flat wires, fibers, bottles and various injection molding parts can be made. Polypropylene has good fluidity, high softening point and low enthalpy, so the molding cycle is shorter than that of most thermoplastics, and drying is not required before processing. The molding method has a certain relationship with the melt flow rate (MFR) of different products and selected resins.

  The process of polypropylene staple fiber seems simple and convenient, but in fact, if there is a slight error in operation, it will have a great impact on its finished products, such as the problem of excessive elongation of polypropylene staple fiber. Is the process of polypropylene staple fiber really as simple as you see?

  Excessive elongation of polypropylene staple fiber will cause many hazards. And in blending, it will also affect the yarn strength.

  In spinning, it was found that the strength of blended yarn was poor, such as the quality index of pure polypropylene fiber 2808, the quality index of polypropylene fiber 50% cotton blended 1950, and the quality index of polypropylene fiber 50% cotton blended 2193215, the quality index of pure cotton 2336. From the above data, it can be seen that the strength zui of pure polypropylene yarn is higher, far higher than that of cotton, but it is not as high as that of pure cotton after blending with cotton. Although this situation may be related to the non-uniformity in the mixing of polypropylene staple fiber and cotton, it is also related to the difficulty in controlling the elongation of polypropylene staple fiber, so the seemingly simple process is also a test for the manufacturer.

  The appearance of polypropylene staple fiber looks like a lump of cotton, which is soft and elastic to a certain extent. The elongation of polypropylene staple fiber is relatively large, and it is easy to be controlled poorly in production. The elongation will be over 60%. This is not only due to the structure of its polypropylene macromolecule itself, but also due to insufficient stretching in the production process.

  Because of the large unevenness of the wire, it is easy to wrap the roll and break the end by increasing the drawing ratio, or sometimes retract after drawing enough. During production, it is often found that the retraction of the wire between the second and third drawing machines pulls the three and five rollers backward, which indicates that after the orientation, the internal stress of the fiber is large and there is retraction. These can be improved by intense heat setting or proper heat treatment.
